My Heathen Kittens

Notice anything wrong with this picture?

I'll give you a hint: compare it to this picture.

Do you see it now? Yep, that's right . . . my nativity set is missing the baby Jesus. He was there when I left the house this afternoon, in His manger where He belongs. But He isn't there now.

I can't prove it, but I suspect Cleo. I found her playing with Joseph's lantern in the middle of the floor earlier today. Joseph now holds nothing in his hand; the lantern is in a drawer for safekeeping. It's way smaller than the baby Jesus. It didn't occur to me that He might be in danger, too.

I haven't found baby Jesus yet. I admit, I only searched for a couple of minutes because I just had to write about my heathen kitties . . . anyway, here's hoping we find the missing Savior.

You know, I thought Jesus was supposed to go missing for a little while at Easter, not at Christmas . . .

  1. Sounds like one of your kitties needs to ask forgiveness! Hope you get the baby Jesus back where He belongs. :)

  2. Luckily, Baby Jesus has been found, under the table about 5 feet from the manger. He's staying in protective custody for now, since really it's Advent season, so He shouldn't be there yet, to make it accurate . . .
(yes, I know the wise men shouldn't be there either then, but that doesn't fit the narrative, and they're not kitty-mobile)

  3. Hahaha. I would totally suspect Cleo too

  4. In some ways, cats are worse than children! They climb at a much earlier age, jump at a much earlier age, and don't understand the importance of Baby Jesus! It's a good thing ya'll found Him, otherwise..... there may have been you-know-where to pay! ;)
    Love ya'll,
    Lisa

  5. Yay! I'm so glad you found Jesus!! Your lives will be SO much better now!! Just kidding-I know you had him all along! At least your kitties can't throw things away-Harry is a fiend! His favorite place to "hide" things is the big trash can in the kitchen. Who knows what has ended up in there!

    Love ya'll!
